About the lab
The Boeing–RV College of Engineering (RVCE)–AICTE IDEA Lab is a collaborative initiative established to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. Supported by Boeing India and the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the lab is hosted at RV College of Engineering, Bengaluru-560 059, as part of the national IDEA Lab network.
The lab provides a state-of-the-art makerspace equipped with advanced tools and technologies for:
- Proof of Concept Development
- 3D Printing and Laser Cutting
- Simulation and Virtual Testing
- Electronics and IoT Integration
- Product Testing, Validation, and Appearance Prototyping
The lab serves as a center for innovation and applied research, offering opportunities to work on real-world challenges in aerospace, mechanical, electronics, and multidisciplinary domains. By leveraging Boeing’s industry expertise, RVCE’s academic excellence, and AICTE’s national vision, the IDEA Lab acts as a launchpad for future technologies, start-ups, and innovators.

The lab serves as an advanced makerspace providing facilities for proof-of-concept development, simulation, prototyping, testing, validation, and creation of appearance models.
Mission
- To create a national network of IDEA Labs that provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for innovation, design, and prototyping.
- To empower students and faculty with hands-on skills, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and innovation.
- To act as a platform for interdisciplinary research and collaboration between academia and industry.
- To transform ideas into viable products and solutions, driving entrepreneurship and start-up culture.
- To support skill development, experiential learning, and innovation-driven education in alignment with NEP 2020 and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
